ITW Ramset - Handle for DuoFast Gas Fastening System
Ramset partnered with a European company to provide the head and magazine for a gas fastening system. DGi was contracted to develop a new handle/lower housing and magazine to retrofit onto the existing tooled head.
Industrial Design
DGi created a series of Black and White sketches to explore the possible orientations for existing components required by the system and present styling options. After one direction was selected, DGi sculpted a clay housing with a swapable handle region to quickly confirm tool balance and explore handle ergonomics prior to CAD design.
Engineering
DGi supplied the final production design for all the new components.
